How do I become a member?
Qualifications
1. Must be a member of any New Mexico Senior Citizen Center (only
one member of a couple needs to be a
card-holder of the Center). 2. Must have a recreational vehicle.
3. Prospective members are invited to attend one meeting and/or
one field trip before joining.
Requirements Active members must attend one meeting and one field trip per calendar year. MEETINGS Regular
meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
at the Bear Canyon Senior Center unless otherwise announced. In
addition to a regular business meeting, trip plans will be announced
and trip sign-up sheets will be available. Name
tags should be worn to all official events which are the monthly
meetings and the pot luck dinners during our field trips. Members
not wearing a name tag are asked to put 25 cents in the “Kitty.”
Name tags can be ordered on your own. KaMo Engravers, 5001
Douglas MacArthur Road NE (883-4963) has our template. DUES Dues
are paid on a calendar year basis and no credit is given for a partial
year’s membership. Dues are payable prior to February 1 of each
year. Effective
January 1, 2004, new member dues are $45.00 per RV and include a Siglo
de Oro RV Plate, which will not be reissued. Thereafter, dues
will be $25.00 per RV per year. Dues must be paid by January 31 or your name will be dropped from the printed Roster. FIELD TRIPS Field
trips provide an excellent opportunity to get acquainted. Events
generally include an early get-together upon arrival, and a Potluck
Luncheon/Dinner during our rally, but planning is flexible. Members
may travel to any rally individually, or join up with others to form a
caravan. Members are free to leave earlier and join the group
later. The return trips may also be on an individual basis, but a
“buddy” system may be employed for safety. For safety reasons, it
is highly advisable that all participants notify the Wagon Master of
their safe return. A rally fee of $5.00 per individual is to be paid to the Wagon Master to help defray costs of the rally. The
Club is anxious to preserve its reputation of leaving a clean campsite
and all members are expected to cooperate in this respect. Consumption
of alcoholic beverages while on a rally will be restricted to the
policies of the park. In the event a member of the Club becomes
abusive during a meeting or rally, the individual will be counseled by
one of the Board of Directors, and a record of such counseling provided
to the President. A second offense will result in removal from
the club.
